About the Wine
This wine provides a great example of what to expect from our Syrah vineyard in Edna Valley, CA. Notes of bacon (yes, bacon) on the nose and front palette, followed by a restrained meatiness accompanied by dark red fruit. We believe it will age very well. It is drinking very nicely right now, and we think 1-2 years of bottle age will further enhance its elegance. Pair this big Syrah with a 2-year aged cheddar, a blue cheese, and of course a big steak on the grill.
The Story
Our building once housed a bakery famed for rye and an impromptu drive-thru, courtesy of the sudden two lane merge out front. This label is a tribute to the few folks that got a little too close and personal with the building, as their brakelight never came on until it was too late.
